Would it be possible on the preferences to allow the creation of the sitemap file and its GZ version at the same time...
i.e.
Create Sitemap
Create GZ
Have two tick boxes, so that it generates both files at the same time...
I always upload the two of them to my servers (so my next question is can it upload both if both at the same time?)
(And one other question... Why does it not name the gz version sitemap.xml.gz ??? I noticed that it calls it sitemap.gz)

The is no reason to generate and FTP both formats.
When you submit your sitemap, you submit it as XML or GZipped.
