This is less "feature" requests and more personal observations with recommended solutions (uh, okay - requests!). I've always thought SG rocks and is fairly simple once you get things going - but I've never cared much for how it's set up because it's misleading at first for users. Having tabs in order of steps is a great concept but here are my ideas on how to make it more user friendly AND powerful for you and the users.
Firstly, I've always thought that "Preferences" should be "Crawl Settings" and that a Preferences tab (listed at the very end of the tabs - maybe all the way at the right side of the window?) should include actual software preferences as a whole...like say for turning the ads off globally (I never understood why this was a per-site preference or why it wasn't just turned off automatically once your registration is verified rather than even being an option) and for things like whether or not the "Help/Support" tab embeds the browser (as it is currently) or opens a new browser window (I just read the thread for that feature request, so that's why I listed it here). I think that user profile should be listed in this section too rather than the "Start" tab (seems kind of jankety with how it's currently implimented) - maybe you could impliment various user preferences there as well, like whether or not people want to subscribe to your product/company news emails or setting a password for their program. I also think that the "Start" tab should really be like a news feed for new SG features (and maybe a little checker to see if that user has already updated to include that feature listing and if not, shows a button to update to the latest version), other company/product news, perhaps SEO tips as well as tips on how to more effectively utilize the product - especially after new features are implimented (I could see this be a user preference option), and maybe even news about search engines that pertain to SEO or just interesting information that is related to SEO (like for instance the Google Webmaster Tools mention in the new SG Quick Start Guide PDF listed on the site).
WHEW - did you actually READ all of that? Don't hate me! =P I know it's a lot of opinion ... it just comes out of loving the current product and wanting it to be even better! =)
