I know this is a Vista thing, but I just cannot get the answer. I have run a number of Sitemaps using v 5.0. I can see the directory structure when the Sitemap creation is completed, and you received the "Sitemap Gererate Results", clicking any of the buttons to "Open... Sitemap". When you try to open this, I get a Vista Error message saying the file does not exist. I have further just looked at the directory structure using Windows Explorer, and those files are not there. I am thinking there is a security setting in Vista that prevents the writing of data to the "Program Files" directory structure. I did change the permissions in this directory to allow "Users" to "Write", but this did not help.
What am I missing???
Thanks, Chuck

Hi Chuck,
You're right, it's a Vista thing. Last week, we updated v5.0 with a link to the sitemaps folder and how it opens the sitemap files. It was a minor update so we didn't publish a major release. Please re-download v5.0, uninstall your current version and re-install the software. When you get to the sitemaps tab, you'll see a link to "Click here to open a window to the sitemap files" and the files will now open in Vista.
Thanks, Brian KeyLimeTie

WOW, fast responce!!! Thanks!
This is not help, but I have more.....
First, I downloaded and installed this software late last week. Upon redownloading, I found the fresh download and the prior download had the same dates. I already had the link as oulined on the "sitemap" page.
The reinstall did not fix this.
What has caused me to foucs on this as an issue is my sites did not "automaticly" update last night. When I look at the log files, I have the very same message, every hour, at the exact same time and second:
11/30/2008 12:35:51 AM - Timer elapsed 11/30/2008 12:35:51 AM - Error: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\KeyLimeTie\KeyLimeTie Sitemap Generator\sitemaps'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalGetFileDirectoryNames(String path, String userPathOriginal, String searchPattern, Boolean includeFiles, Boolean includeDirs, SearchOption searchOption) at System.IO.Directory.GetDirectories(String path, String searchPattern, SearchOption searchOption) at System.IO.Directory.GetDirectories(String path) at iArchitect.SitemapGenerator.Business.WindowsServiceHelper.ExecuteSchedules(String sitemapsPath) at iArchitect.SitemapGenerator.WinSvc.WindowsService.OnElapsedTime(Object source, ElapsedEventArgs e) 11/30/2008 1:35:51 AM - Timer elapsed 11/30/2008 1:35:51 AM - Error: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Program Files\KeyLimeTie\KeyLimeTie Sitemap Generator\sitemaps'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalGetFileDirectoryNames(String path, String userPathOriginal, String searchPattern, Boolean includeFiles, Boolean includeDirs, SearchOption searchOption) at System.IO.Directory.GetDirectories(String path, String searchPattern, SearchOption searchOption) at System.IO.Directory.GetDirectories(String path) at iArchitect.SitemapGenerator.Business.WindowsServiceHelper.ExecuteSchedules(String sitemapsPath) at iArchitect.SitemapGenerator.WinSvc.WindowsService.OnElapsedTime(Object source, ElapsedEventArgs e)
I was assuming the problem with the autoupdate may stem from finding what Vista did with the data files.
I did find the files. On my Windows Explorer page, when selecting the "KeyLimeTie Sitemap Generator" directory, I get an extra icon on the ribbon at the top of the page called "Compatibility Files". When I click this, it redirects me to the directory structure where Windows has placed the data from the software - C:\Users\Chuck\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\KeyLimeTie\KeyLimeTie Sitemap Generator
Not sure what effect this issue will have with the software. I was just checking on TechNet, and the way Vista appears to be built is to redirect all data out of the %programfiles% directory, and not allow data to be saved here. Their suggestion is to set the software, in this case, the SiteGenerator, to store data in an acceptable directory.
I don't see any option in the software to redirect data.
Any thought on what I should do?
Thanks again,
Chuck

Hi, I'm having the same issue. Do you have a fix? Also, I can't seem to start the SiteMap Generator in admin mode, which is preventing me from starting the scheduler. Do you have an updated version that fixes these two issues?
Thanks, Michael

We have identified the issue with the Scheduler running in Vista and are testing the solution. We expect to release the update Thursday, March 19th.
